We're delighted that Tim Megarry (Hole in the Wall Gang, Give My Head Peace, Blame Game) who kindly agreed to select a winner from our prize draw arranged by Eddie Montgomery.

NIPDS participated in Ulster-Scots Academy (MAG) and the Ulster Historical Foundation conference at the Europa Hotel in Belfast on 25th and 26th March 2014.  This two day event explored the rich links and myriad connections between Ireland, and more particularly Ulster, and Scotland.

There were contributions from notable and accomplished speakers from many different disciplines which will increase knowledge of Ulster-Scots history and culture and seek to demonstrate the positive contribution that Ulster-Scots can make to a shared inheritance.

This important and well organised event was challenging, thought-provoking and entertaining.

Mark Armstrong (NIPDS Director) passed on his thanks to everyone involved from the respective agencies and particularly Tim Smith for the opportunity for NIPDS to participate and contribute to the proceedings. Special thanks to the NIPDS team including Eddie Montgomery, Sam Bailie, Mervyn Hempton, Harry Russell, David McCormick, as well as Kim and Grahame Harris
